Obama’s path similar to the Socialist FDR’s

There is no doubt FDR was a “progressive” the definition of progressive is Marxist leaning Socialist. One lesson Barack Obama has learned from history, was FDR’s reign of socialism, and how to advance it.

FDR’s lust for power and supreme authority led to the 22nd Amendment. He used the war to his advantage to stay in power. There’s been some talk amongst some progressive circles about an attempt to repeal the 22nd Amendment. I wouldn’t worry about that at this point, but file it away for future reference.

His choosing of which businesses will succeed, which ones to purchase goods from is well known with his National Recovery Act posters mandated for said businesses to display.

He was out to get Ford Motor Company because Ford wouldn’t play ball and live by FDR’s rules. That’s another story for another time.

In 1935 Roosevelt enacted a 79% income tax rate. You make a hundred thousand and you get to keep $20,100.00, the rest was stolen by the government. Talk about government greed and wealth redistribution! Just like Obama wants to do today, except he hasn’t mentioned a 79% rate, but he still wants taxes raised to pay for his agenda.

Now, this is where things really start to become similar between the two progressive presidents. Roosevelt had to tax poor people to advance his agenda, just like Obama does today. If you miss these similarities, you’re obviously not paying attention to the news.

Roosevelt had to tax poor people, so he instituted excise taxes-especially on whiskey and tobacco. Prohibition ceased to be law. He explicitly said I want that whiskey in there so we can tax it. Disproportionately middle-class and lower-class people drink. Roosevelt wanted their money. We therefore had a high excise tax on whiskey and tobacco. We instituted for the first time in our history a federal gasoline tax. See, the income tax hits the rich back in the twenties, now we are putting in excise taxes because we have to fund the New Deal. The money has to come from somewhere, and the rich people just sheltered their investments. We had other excise taxes on cars, taxes on tires, on telephone calls, telegrams, movie tickets, and bank checks.

And what are the Democrats and Obama proposing to pay for socialized medicine? Taxes on soft drinks, alcohol, junk food, basically “sin taxes” but they are really excise taxes.

With a 79% income tax rate the wealthy began moving their money to tax shelters. Wouldn’t you if the government took .79 cents of every dollar you made? Because of this, it’s been the constant, and wrong mantra of the Democrat Party that claims the wealthy don’t pay their fair share. It is the government that takes more than it’s fair share, and it’s called government greed. And the rant of the FDR Democrat Party lives on today:

“You poor people are doing your share, but the rich are avoiding the taxes. We should make them pay.” And he recommended a tax to congress, on all income over one hundred thousand dollars. His recommendation in 1941 was for a 99.5 percent tax on all income over one hundred thousand dollars. And when the budget director said, “What!” Roosevelt’s comment was, “Why not?”

When congress refused to pass that bill, Roosevelt was furious. Therefore he instituted a 100 percent income tax, by executive order, on all income $25,000 or more. I repeat, Roosevelt instituted an executive order on April 27, 1942 for a 100 percent income tax on all income over $25,000. How many of you knew about that? Oh good, somebody did. Actually, the Republicans won the next election and voted it out, and Roosevelt had to settle for 90 percent. He had to settle for a 90 percent marginal tax. Here’s a quotation from Roosevelt, it was during World War II, “Discrepancies between low personal incomes and very high personal incomes should be lessened.” Oh, and he used the war as a crisis, you see. “And I therefore believe that in this time of grave national danger, when all excess income should go to win the war, no American citizen ought to have a net income after he’s paid his taxes of more than twenty-five thousand dollars.”

FDR was a Socialist, and a Marxist leaning totalitarian at that. There was nothing great about him.

Were you aware that FDR dreamt up a second bill of rights and tried to get it enacted in to law? Oh yes indeed, it’s true. And it all added up to socialism, and this is the agenda Barack Obama is pushing very hard. He is indeed attempting to get FDR’s second bill of rights enacted in to law.

  • The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the Nation;
  • The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
  • The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;
  • The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;
  • The right of every family to a decent home;
  • The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;
  • The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;
  • The right to a good education.

Okay class, what is the absolute truth about tyranny, again? Quite correct, Johnny. “Tyranny always begins with good intentions.”
