Wow! There actually are a very few real Democrats left in that party, I thought they were dead and buried. I was seriously thinking the party should change names to reflect its true identity, with either the Socialist Party or the Nanny State Party. But I guess there really are a few real Democrats left over there.
Half a dozen members of the Senate Democrat Conference pose the biggest threat to Obama’s agenda, giving Senate Republicans a fighting chance to block the administration’s major expansions of government.
GOP leaders have begun reaching out to these centrists, hoping they will buck their party on Obama’s two biggest initiatives: healthcare reform and climate change legislation.
Half a dozen! That’s it. Only 10% of the so-called Democrat caucus in the senate are or lean toward the real Democrat Party. The remainder, kooks, tyrants, Socialists, Progressives, Marxists, and other undesireables that have no business representing the people.
Just look back only a few years to House Speaker Tip O’Neil. A Massachusetts Democrat, it doesn’t come any more liberal than that, well, he was far, far more conservative and common sense thinking than the current three ring circus that makes up congress today. He and President Reagan actually liked each other and became friends. I don’t think Barack Obama likes any Republicans, and certainly Barack Obama does not consider House Minority Leader John Boehner a friend. “Change we can believe in!”
Leading the pack of potential defectors are Sen. Ben Nelson, a pro-business Democrat from Nebraska; Sen. Joe Lieberman, a self-described Independent Democrat from Connecticut; and Sen. Mary Landrieu, a Louisiana Democrat who represents a conservative state.
All three have expressed concerns about the core element in Obama’s healthcare proposal: a government-run insurance program that would compete with the private sector. The three also worked together this year to successfully cut more than $100 billion from Obama’s economic stimulus package.
The other Democrats who are expected to voice the most serious objections to either or both of the administrations top priorities are: Sens. Evan Bayh (Ind.), Blanche Lincoln (Ark.) and Mark Pryor (Ark.).
Well I certainly don’t see Amy Klobuchar’s name mentioned, and I’d never expect the Marxist Franken’s name to be mentioned as a country first Democrat.
So if things get real close with the climate-kook bill and the Soviet style socialized medicine bill, it just may be some real Democrats will come to the rescue and rebuke Obama’s radical socialist agenda for America.
